In the first chapter
of Alice in Wonderland she is peer pressured into drinking a potion and eating
cookies/cake. She was reluctant at first but the talking doorknob was telling
her to drink/eat the things he put in front of her. This happens until Alice
breaks down and cries and almost drowns the doorknob. This relates to today
because kids and teens even adults can all be peer pressured into doing
something they don't want to do. An example would be peer pressuring teens or
adults into drinking, doing drugs, or sex.
In the first chapter of Alice in Wonderland, Alice
experiences two main feelings: Curiosity and peer pressure. An example of both
of these feelings is when Alice was told to drink the potion that made her
smaller which is peer pressure. A real world example of peer pressure is when
teen try to make each other drink, do drugs, or have sex. An example of
curiosity in the book and movie is when Alice is confused on if she should or
should not drink the potion that made her smaller. A real word example of
curiosity is if a kid tries something spicy for the first time, the kid
naturally wants to try it because of everybody else is doing it but it is spicy
and the kid has to find it out for themselves whether they like it or not.
She was not supposed
to wonder and she was not allowed to be by herself without an escort. Because
she was a kid and kids today are not allowed to be at certain places by
themselves. She said “she wasn't invited to the rabbit hole” and back then you
have to be invited to go somewhere. Kids can't just go to a party without an
invite but if it's a party that anyone can come to then it's a different. As kids most of them have mysterious mind
that will make them curious and that is what was wrong with Alice and how she
knew she wasn’t allowed to go without someone but she was curious. That is what
lead her to not follow the rules and run off by herself.
There aren't many archetypes in chapter one of Alice in
Wonderland. The ones that I have found are as followed: Alice is in a blue and
white dress, she is a little girl, the rabbit is white, the rabbit hole is
dark/black, and there is a three legged table. Alice who is a little girl is in
a blue and white dress which means she is innocent and peaceful. The same thing
goes for the white rabbit. The bottom of the rabbit hole is dark/black which
means that there is going to be something bad happening at the bottom of this
well maybe even a death. Lastly there is a three legged table which stands for
a trinity. A trinity means strength.
- Wasn't allowed to go by herself
- She said that she hasn't been invited
- And she really shouldn't be doing this
- Was suppose to where restricted gear
- Wasn’t allowed to walk up and talk to someone had to be introduced
- Unmarried ladies need a escort must make a jester
- No loud talking
- Can't speak to a man smoking
Archetypes
- Alice blue/white dress
This means that she is peaceful and innocent
- Alice is a little girl
Being a little girl furthermore states that she is innocent
- White rabbit
Being a rabbit itself doesn't mean anything but being a white rabbit means the same as the dress. He is innocent
- Bottom of the rabbit hole is black
Black means death or something bad is about to happen
- Three legged table
The table itself means nothing but the fact that its three legged means that it represents strength or power because three is more powerful than one
